NAIDOC Week ‘Keep the Fire Burning: Blak, loud and proud’ is 7-14th July 2024.
Keep the Fire Burning: Blak, Loud & Proud shows “the enduring strength and vitality of First Nations culture – with fire a symbol of connection to Country, to each other, and to the rich tapestry of traditions that define Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples”.
What can you do to celebrate First Nations peoples, history and culture during NAIDOC week?
🤍 Read First Nations, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander, books
🤍 Appreciate (or buy or commission) First Nations art at your local gallery or art centres
🤍 Organise, in collaboration with local First Nations Elders, community groups or organisations, a celebration event (remember to budget and pay for services of experts, specialists and knowledge holders).
🤍 Organise a fundraiser and donate to a First Nations charity
🤍 Display the NAIDOC week poster and explore what it means with your young people
