1. Ange Debien I absolutely loved reading black cockatoo. A beautiful heartwarming short story. I am a teacher librarian and will be highly recommending this book to my older students. My favourite native Australian bird is the black cockatoo! Their call is quite mesmerising. Your illustrations are beautiful and the story itself a gem...thank you.

2. Hakea Thank you so much for taking the time to write to us, Ange. We are happy that it reached and touched you. It has been such an honour having our story find its way into hearts far and wide from our intended audience- the kids of East Kimberley. Aren't they amazing! We get large flocks in the Kimberley at times and if we are really lucky can find a feather or two. We can't claim credit for the illustrations :) Dub Leffler is our amazing illustrator on this one.
